Five Things You Should Know About Salvation
By K. Rozelle
1.) Salvation is free for all.
Salvation in this context is the act of being rescued from a Christless, eternal, burning, hell. 2 Peter 3:9 states “The Lord
is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness,
but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish,
but that all should come to repentance.” This verse clearly
show Gods will for us to be saved. In John 3:16 we read “And God
so Loved the world that He gave His only Son that whosoever
believeth on Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
God wants all men to be saved and to spend Eternity in Heaven.
Jesus Christ’s death upon the cross made it possible because a
perfect man had to die to be the Sacrifice for our sins. You
do not need to attend a church or affiliate with a certain church in
order to be saved!
2.) Salvation is based upon faith alone. Ephesians
2:8-9 says “For by grace are you saved through faith and
that not of yourselves it is the gift of God, not of works lest any
man should boast.” Hebrews 11 tells of many of the people in
history who lived by Faith. In this chapter, we see that “faith
is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not
seen.” We use faith every day. We have faith that our chairs
will hold us when we sit down, we demonstrate faith when we step
outside and cross the street and people stop at the stop signs. Man
cannot do anything to earn himself a spot in heaven. Man is
inherently sinful and therefore cannot enter heaven because God
cannot abide sin. Our faith in Jesus Christ doing what he said he
did and would is the only thing that will save us. Salvation is a
free gift there is nothing you can do to earn a gift. Romans 6:23.
3.) Salvation is only provided through Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:10 tells of Christ’s life and death and how it is only
Christ Jesus that can save us. Ephesians 2:4-5 also discusses Christ
and how only He loved us enough to give His life for us. The
ultimate sacrifice that someone can give for another is their life.
Christ is God, He is Deity. That God would lay down his life for
mere men is astounding, yet that is what he did and that is why He
is the only way to salvation.
4.) Salvation is for Eternity.
Eternity is form right now to forever. Eternity is never-ending.
“For the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life
through Jesus Christ our Lord.” - Romans 6:23. There is no way that
one can lose their salvation it is for Eternity and nothing that we
do in this life can change that. 1 John 5:13 and John 5:24 also
clearly show that salvation is everlasting and nothing that we do if
we are truly saved can remove us from that promise of life. We are
sinful humans and even those who have accepted the gift of true life
stumble and fall, but God always shows his grace and helps us get
back on our feet and move down the road of life. Nothing keeps a
person who has accepted Christ as personal savior from having
eternal life.
5.) Salvation is personal.
There is no ‘group’ salvation. God is interested in each one of us
and knows everything about us. Isaiah 24:44 tells of God forming us
in our mothers womb and creating each of us individually. When
Christ was crucified upon the Cross it was for each one of us that
he died. He had each one of us in mind when he gave his life.
Salvation is personal and it is for each and every one of us. Rom
10:9-13: “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord
Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall
not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the
Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon
him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be
saved.” KJV. Would you like to know more? Read our article on
